Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect personal information when you contact us or use our website.

Last updated: July 2026

Who we are

Bruce Dulley Family Lawyers (“we”, “us”) is a Brisbane family law firm. Our office is at Level 4, 231 North Quay, Brisbane City QLD 4000. You can contact us on (07) 3236 1612 or bruce@dulleylawyers.com.au.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and with our professional confidentiality obligations as solicitors.

What we collect

We may collect personal information when you:

  • submit an enquiry or consultation request on this website;
  • instruct us as a referring firm (town agency / referrer form);
  • phone, email or write to us; or
  • become a client and we open a matter file.

The information typically includes your name, contact details (phone, email, address), the nature of your enquiry or matter, and any other details you choose to provide. For referring firms, we may also collect firm name, court and listing details, and brief instructions.

We do not ask for more sensitive information through website forms than is needed to respond to your enquiry. If you later instruct us, we may collect further information required to provide legal services.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and arrange consultations;
  • provide legal services and manage client matters;
  • administer town agency and referrer instructions; and
  • comply with our professional, regulatory and legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information or use enquiry details for unrelated marketing lists.

How we hold it

Information is held in our practice systems and communications records, with access limited to staff who need it for their work. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Client matter information is also subject to solicitor–client confidentiality and file retention requirements.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information where it is reasonably necessary to provide our services or where we are required or authorised by law — for example, with barristers, experts, court registries, or other parties involved in a matter, and with service providers who support our practice (such as IT or document systems), under appropriate arrangements.

For town agency work, we deal with the instructing firm; we act solely as their Brisbane agent and do not solicit their clients.

Website, cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies and web analytics (including Google Analytics / Universal Analytics, or a successor GA4 property) to understand how the site is used — for example, pages visited and general traffic patterns. Analytics data is typically aggregated or pseudonymised. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
